Scandals, scandals and MORE SCANDALS with The Girls!
It’s been a busy week.
Just when you thought you could lazily sit back and embrace our national summer pastime, there is stunning revelation after revelation - and press conferences, fines, admissions, suspensions and protests to follow. It’s all a little too much.
But the biggest announcement coming out of the Fantoo Camp this week is as follows: Fantoo Girls will be defending their title for Best Sports Podcast in the People’s Choice Awards!!!

The voting will open on Saturday, July 28 and close August 11. So prepare for election battle. We will update the site so you can click and link to the voting center. Vote once a day - it’s good for you!
Seek and ye shall find…here’s where we are this week.
SIRIUS Satellite Radio - Sports Central - Channel 123 - LIVE - Wednesdays from 1-3PM EST and replayed on Thursdays from 11-1PM EST. Robin was in the studio with Checkoway as a fill-in for Carol. They did their best but it just wasn’t the same without the fiery red head. They did manage to interview Scoop Jackson (ESPN.com columnist), Chris Draft (LB St. Louis Rams), Shaun O’Hara (Center, NY Giants) and Sparky Lyle (former relief pitcher, NY Yankees and current Manager, Somerset Patriots). Whew!!!!
Philadelphia Eagles - XX Factor - our weekly Wednesday feature on the NFL’s #1 team website. This week’s offering studies why the NFL rules and takes up the cause for Fan Camp. It’s a must read.
Sports Radio 950 - LIVE - We’re still at it on terrestrial radio! Saturdays from 8-10AM EST. Listen LIVE online if you’re not in the Philly area.
But before you go anywhere - check out Episode 81. It’s a keeper…
Scandals, scandals and MORE SCANDALS with The Girls!
Today The Girls are coming to you live from the set of the new game show, “Who Wants To Be The Commissioner Now?”

PICK ME!!!!!
Producers are doing anything they can to entice the regular Janes and Joes in the world to step forward and take one of these soon to be vacant multi-million dollar jobs. For the first time in history, the people are smarter than the money being dangled in front of them.
Meanwhile, The Girls are busy trying to find a sport that isn’t tainted - and right now they have zeroed in on Spin Art, Super Soaker Extreme Fighting and Texting, although Texting is still being reviewed due to the potential affects of thumb braces and Ritalin. Clearly, there isn’t a sport safe out there today, so with this podcast we beg you to find the silver lining, test it, and if it comes out clean then get on the cloud.
We’re not going to let these events strip us of our fan-dom.
The only stripping that should be going on right now is on the streets lining the Tour de France because what’s a Tour without a few streakers? And apparently a blood doping scandal or six. Never you mind - it’s still a blast to listen to Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen
describe each and every angry pedal as the Tour closes in on the Champs de Lyse this weekend. See, there’s silver lining number one.
These two can AND WILL call a snail race - they’re THAT good. Check out Phil Liggett’s calassic ‘Liggittisms’ here.

Phil Liggett (L) Paul Sherwen (R)
Now, over in NASCAR, B Frizzale - or Brian France for those of you who aren’t on the DL - has decided that partnering with the Hip-Hop community has worked so well for the NBA that he’s going to try it on for size in the progressive world of stock car racing. This ought to keep us entertained for months. Hopefully they have enough Hip-Hop stars out of jail to make to the remaining races.
Speaking of culture - the Michael Vick Dog Fighting Organization continues to be on the defense as Roger Goodell tells him to stay away from training camp and Bobby Petrino wonders why he ever made the jump to the big leagues. Arthur Blank is just hoping that PETA doesn’t target Home Depot because many a dog fighting house has been built with their low-priced lumber and cloaked in their matte black paint. Ouch.
Also on the docket today we have Tim Donaghy of Gambino Crime Family fame. A slight man who may take down the already fragile NBA by coming clean with the Feds over his gambling problems, providing of confidential information and possible game-fixing while employed as an official NBA referee. Oh what a tangled web he has woven. Has all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster, and The Girls highly recommend Tom Cruise taking the leading role. How fun would it be to see Mini-All-About-Me on the court with a bunch of 7-footers? The dialogue could blow and the laughs would still come at a dizzying pace.
Saving time for a quick run around the bases, The Girls welcome back Jon Lester to the mound after bravely battling cancer. They also encourage Barry bonds to keep Bud Selig on the run for at least a month and marvel at the business savvy of Kimberly Bell as she launches her body of literary work via Playboy - the launching pad of other great masters of the written word such as Virginia Woolf, D. H. Lawrence, and Gertrude Stein.
And in this week’s IT HAS TO BE SAID there’s even something nice to say about the world of celebrity!
See? There’s so much to be positive about these days in the world of sport and beyond. So grab your smiley face, your rose-colored glasses and a bucket of sunshine - it’s time to talk sports with The Girls!
