Ducks, Tigers and Other Animals with The Girls!
Just when you thought that there was nothing doing except baseball as summer sneaks up on us, The Girls have a full plate of juicy nuggets from around the sporting globe. Though this podcast has a few mispronunciations and a few tidbits of misinformation sprinkled in here and there, we still stick the landing on the finer points.
So as the the Delta 757 entitled ‘Hank Aaron 755′ gets ready for takeoff, get ready for Episode 77 with The Girls.

Ducks, Tigers and Other Animals with The Girls!
Today The Girls are coming to you live from the torturous workouts of your favorite rookie NFL head coach, Mr. Lane Kiffin. Coddling didn’t work so now he rules with an iron play book. But a funny thing happened on the way to the practice field…
HAVE YOU SEEN MY TEAM???
Too bad the players ratted him out to the league because there isn’t a team that needs a ’scared straight’ workout more than the Oakland Raiders. Speaking of scared straight, apparently PacIdiot Jones wasn’t. Maybe a felony conviction or two will teach him that chicks just don’t dig criminals. Maybe if we don’t talk about him, he’ll go away…or to jail. Good luck surrendering Vegas, dude.
Also around the world of sport we have a Duck taking the title - AGAIN - and a new cub being born to the Tiger. Oh, that and the NHL draft. The Girls know you’ll be staying up late trying to find Versus so as not to miss a moment of the action.
And over in racing we have some serious drama in the Formula One ranks as Lewis Hamilton scorches the competition, including his teammate, Fernando Alonso. Apparently there is a gag order in the works between those two - things could get testy. Hamilton could be the hottest rookie in all of sports so don’t miss out on the chance to see him take three in a row. Plus Robin gives you a special glimpse into what it must be like to be fluent in French during this intense discussion.
In the NASCAR ranks, The Girls continue to wonder just what has happened to the drama on the track. Off-track stuff aside, the races have been lacking in spontaneity, even if we get to see a ‘Swan’ transformation from over in Carl Edwards’ pit.

Who won?
Gee, wonder if it’s because stock car racing seems to be a four-day-per-week event now, but the same handful of guys keep winning. So much for any given Sunday in NASCAR…
Over in the MLB, inter-league play fires up The Girls as they dissect the rivals, the rules and the subplots. Certainly the Yankees and the Mets have provided drama, and Jason Giambi will be doing his own version of Law & Order in the coming days. The Red Sox just keep kicking tail and Bonds belts one away at Fenway.
The All-Star voting continues to rage on. So ROCK THE VOTE and get ready for the Battle of Midway - of the season, that is. Check out the current standings - notice any names you thought might not squeak in??? Soon we will pontificate on trades as the July 31 deadline approaches. The Girls will keep their ear to the grass for you on that one.
And in this week’s Fan-Tutor we uncover the mystery person behind the Error call in baseball. All that with a tasty summer wheat beer in
hand.

Seriously, could life get any sweeter?
In this week’s IT HAS TO BE SAID, The Girls smell kerosene and it’s coming from the East. You don’t want to miss this one if you intend to keep yourself alive. And being alive makes enjoying sports just a little more fun.
So grab your slip ‘n slide, a water ice (it’s a Philly thang), and some nose plugs - it’s time to dive into the deep end with The Girls!

You guys are totally awesome! I wish I had stumbled upon you alot sooner. It’s so cool to find other women involved in sports like I am (especially Eagles Football). It’s hard to find well written articles like yours and I for one will be following your blog. I will also be letting others know about you as well. Write on girls! You are doing a fantastic job. I just wish I still lived in Philly!
